Unprecedented Growth

We now have the medications to end the HIV epidemic. However, the social and economic challenges and barriers to care that Damien Center’s clients face have only grown in recent years.

Damien Center’s client base has increased by more than 84% over the past three years, as we have expanded current programs, implemented changes to make them more accessible, added new teams who reach out to specific high-risk populations, and developed a variety of new programs.

More services to existing clients

The One Home campaign will enable us to meet critical gaps in existing services. The new location would allow Damien Center to offer ophthalmology, dental care, hepatitis treatments, LGBTQ+ care, and other key services.

Allow for Expansion of Services

More space for safe, private, and high-quality services

The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed how critical sufficient space is to providing safe and secure care, particularly for those who may be immunocompromised or face other health risks.

More outreach to high-risk communities

Damien Center will continue to expand to geographic areas with high HIV incidence and focus on racial inequities among Black and Latinx populations.

Expansion to intersecting populations

Additional space will also allow for the logical extension of Damien Center’s mission beyond its traditional focus on HIV, to those with similar or intersecting needs.
